Experience the camel ride and camping at Merzouga with our 3 days tour from Agadir to Merzouga. 

We will start our 3 days tour from Agadir to Merzouga, via Ouarzazate, and Agdez, to the Sahara Dunes at Merzouga. The magnificent Toudra Gorges and Dades Valley will also be on our itinerary. We’ll head back to Agadir after our program in the desert is over.

Itinerary of 3 days tour from Agadir to Merzouga

Day 1: Agadir – Taroudant – Taliouine – Taznakht – Ouarzazate

3 Days in the Desert Early in the morning, the Merzouga Desert Tour will leave Agadir and make a worthwhile stop to explore the historic ramparts of Taroudant. Continue on to Taliouine, which is known for producing saffron and is thought to be the center of Morocco’s saffron growing region, before moving on to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco. At the renowned Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, 30 kilometers from Ouarzazate, we will make a halt. Continue on to Ouarzazate, passing one of the most fascinating red earth fortresses, the Kasbah, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Africa’s “Hollywood” Many films you may have watched, like “Gladiator,” “Jewel of the Nile,” and “The Sahara,” were filmed at one of the town’s largest studios, which is one of the largest in the entire world. Check into the hotel or riad where you will be provided with breakfast and dinner.

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Merzouga Desert

Drive back via the amazing “sandcastles” that make up the “Road of the Thousand Kasbahs” after finishing your hotel breakfast. We will continue on our journey and make a stop in Kalaat Mgouna, also known as “The Roses City,” which is famous for its roses and holds an annual festival in May during the rose harvest. From there, we will go to Dades Valley and Tinghir, where we will see Todra Valley. Observe the sweeping vistas of the vintage mud Berber settlements that overlook the valley. Arrive in the Gorge and proceed beneath the 300-meter-tall red cliff where many rock climbers congregate to engage in their favorite sport. After lunch, we continue to Erfoud and Rissani where your camel will be waiting for you. From there, we depart for Merzouga where your camel will be waiting. Explore the enigmatic Erg-Chebbi sand-sea before mounting your camel under the expert guidance of a camel man. Here, you can choose to spend the night in a typical Berber nomad tent or out beneath the stars.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert – Rissani – Alnif – Nkob – Agdiz – Taznakht – Taliouine – Agadir

We shall ride the camels to Merzouga in the morning. After breakfast and a wash at your riad in Merzouga, you’ll depart for Rissani (formerly Sijilmassa), which is where the Alaouite dynasty, the current reigning family, was established. This is a highly traditional Moroccan town, with the majority of the ladies covered and the men wearing hoods. We’ll keep on driving through Alnif, Tazarine, Nkob, and Agdiz on the way to Agadir. We will take in the intriguing Draa Valley’s sightseeing, which is home to hundreds of Berber Kasbahs, before moving on to Taznakht, Taliouine, and arriving in Agadir after dusk.
